Noah is a 100% right. As for Marc Ward’s comment, “any theories as to why LiveType worked better than Motion? is there any difference in the two programs (I know you can add more ‘sizzle’ using Motion) when exporting a file? ”
Both programs have their strengths, Motion can do a lot Live Type can’t. However…I would not be surprised if Motion engulfed Live Type so all of Live Type is in Motion, a lot of it already is.

[ Yiannis Valkan] I have 2 clips of 176 frames each.
I add the Motion Tracking, Match Move behavior to my top clip to follow a certain point of the bottom clip. The easiest match move scenario.
My problem is that when i press the ANALYZE button, it only calculates the 76 frames of the 176.Tracking is Analyzed at where the play head is placed (either forward or reverse, depending on the revers check box). If it analyzed 76 frames then your playhead was on frame 100. Hope this helps others who find this thread.

Yes, you can add objects or people and move them. And I think it does a great job. I created this Motion tutorial on Creating Customized Motion Templates and the open shows a bunch of objects that I interact with. Hope this helps.

[ mirela bogdan] The kind of effects I had in mind are things like making inanimate objects move, add in things to the frame that weren’t there before etc…
It depends on the inanimate object, Motion 3 is not a 3D program where you generate 3D people and stuff. Motion has great Motion tracking and masking tools that make it so you can add things that weren’t there before. Hope this helps.

The Bad TV Filter can do the effect in the video. You can change the settings to get rid of static and stuff. The Waviness is mainly what your after. I think this Star Wars Hologram tutorial can be of some help, it’s in Motion but you can do it in FCP as well. Hope this helps.

Set the look ahead frame rate. Then hold down the command key, click the tracker in the Canvas and drag the direction the reference pattern is moving in the clip. As you Command-drag the track point, an inset displays a magnified view of the frame specified in the Look Ahead Frames parameter. When the look-ahead tracker is positioned on the reference pattern, release the mouse button. Hope this helps.
