I see. Kissinger and Greenspan with Ford kid effect2.psd is set to Gray in Photoshop. Change it to RGB and that should fix how it looks in Motion.

In the sample the whole thing was built in a 3D program which made it easier for them. Since you are working with real footage you will have the added work of rotoscoping the image you have something following.
I have never seen this tutorial but it can be of help. It is older so know that the new motion tracking capability inside of AE is much better then it was.

Or this tutorial will probably be even better: https://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/alien_surface/ It goes into motion tracking (I’m assuming your shot is moving) and rotoscoping. The one thing it doesn’t cover is having a line follow the object. If you need tips on that let me know. Hope this is of help.

What uploaded image? Also, people hate opening “uploaded images” because that is a great way to get a virus on a computer. When you reply to this click on the still camera icon above the box you type in. If you hover the mouse over it it will say image upload. Once the image is uploaded copy the embed code and past it in the reply and we can see the image.

BTW, Stephen, when are you gonna make a DVD for Motion 5?
I was planing on doing one but I disliked FCP X so much I walked away from Apple software and I’m doing everything except legacy projects in Adobe and DaVinci Resolve now. I still think Motion is a great program but Round Tripping from FCP is what got me to use it more then After Effects back when Motion 2 came out.

Unless by 3D object you mean a 2D object that moves in 3D space.
If it is something like text you can do this tutorial but it kills Motions processing power: https://library.creativecow.net/articles/wiggins_peter/3d_text.php

When I do it I just bring the 720 into a 1080 project file so everything is 1080. In this spot the Ribs is 720 and the raincoat guys walking out of the house is 720, everything else is 1080. https://vimeo.com/77805157
Keep in mind I used Twixtor & optical flow to make the people leaving the house go even slower. But making the whole timeline 1080 is easy to. So both options work great and look great on my broadcast monitor.Stephen Smith
