Astons is slang for a lower third as well. It’s a term used in the UK. That is because the Aston Broadcast Systems generate text like a Chyron. Hope this helps you win your bet.
You may want to try Non-Stop Music or Megatracks. They both have a big libraries of songs that are close to very popular ones. You may be able to find a very similar version of the song they wanted. Plus, both libraries will find the match for you so you don’t have to if you don’t want to. Every time a client wants a popular song these guys have had something very similar. Hope this helps.
I’ve always called a Lower Third a Lower Third. Sometimes its called a Super. When I worked in the news if was often times called “Chyron” which is referring to the program that generated the lower third.
Sorry for the bad news. I really hope that is something that is fixed in the next version of Motion. So I would make sure the clip I want to export is not rendered. Mark an In and Out point for the clip. Go to File, Export, Using Quick Time Conversion. Format set to: QuickTime Movie. Then Click on Options and set the Compression Type to: Animation. Make sure Depth is set to Millions of Colors +. Then re-import and place on top of the original clip. Disable the original clip and round trip as planed. Hope this helps.
By Export do you mean “Send To”? If so, the Chroma Keyer filter is not available in Motion. You can try Motion’s Primatte Keyer but it doesn’t work well all the time. I would export out your keyed clip as a Quick Time Movie set to Animation. Be sure to set the color to Millions +. Also, make sure the clip is un-rendered when you export it. Hope this helps.
