With the redesigned sequence text behavior some of the Motion 3 Text Behaviors are not in Motion 4. I have a computer with version 3 and a computer with version 4. If you give me the name of the behavior and can tell you for sure that it is no longer in version 4. But my guess is that you where using one of the ones that have been replaced. About the video toaster. My favorite Toaster wipe was the one where the sheep fall from the sky and then fly back up. I think it made it into 90% of the videos made at my High Schools TV station. The TV station being a video toaster and a camera in the smallest class room in the building that is.Check out the Graphics Demo Reel I did.

I would use the Bezier Shape tool and create two points. Double click on the last post to close the shape. Hit F4 to open up the shapes tab. Check the Outline Checkbox and increase the width. Go to the Add Behavior Icon and choose, Shape, Write on. This will make the shape grow from nothing to its full size. Change the length of the behavior to increase or decrease the write on speed. I’m not sure I understand what you want but I think it is possiable if the clip is long enough that you can speed it up and add an echo effect. But the clip would have to be way long to speed it up enough.

I think Particle Metrix is the plug-in you need. It has a 15 day free trail. It works in AE as well as other apps. Best of luck.

Create your own brush or find brushes you like in an art program like Photoshop. Import that “brush” into Motion’s Project Pane or Timeline. Draw your paint stroke. Change the Outline Brush Type from Solid to Image. Drag the new brush into the Brush Source. In the Project Pane or Time Line hide the Brush stroke and your in business.
