it’s too simple
all i want to do is make a shape grow in one direction for a difened period of time and stay there. imagine a thick red progress bar that begins on the left and extends to the right. THAT’S ALL I WANT! HOW HARD CAN THIS BE?!
but i can’t do it. please help and try not to laugh too much.

Create a shape then use behaviors; basic behaviors/motion path. then adjust the in begging and end point, also cut the behavior in your time line to how many seconds you want it to go from one end of the screen to the other. I hope this helps.

I would use the Bezier Shape tool and create two points. Double click on the last post to close the shape. Hit F4 to open up the shapes tab. Check the Outline Checkbox and increase the width. Go to the Add Behavior Icon and choose, Shape, Write on. This will make the shape grow from nothing to its full size. Change the length of the behavior to increase or decrease the write on speed. You could also just make your final shape and then animate a mask to reveal it.
