I have no idea, have you looked at it set to best? Does it do it when it is exported out? I’m wondering if that is a real time thing and not in the final output.

Yes, Just select the end of the nest or clip and then go up to Effects, Video Transitions, Wipe, Gradient wipe. Then do it again for the in of the clip. Or you can select the first Gradient Wipe and hold down the Option and Shift keys to duplicate the transition and drag it over to the other side of the clip.

Nest your Lower Third. Add a Gradient Wipe transition to the end of the nest. Adjust the Gradient Wipe’s softness and you should be good to go. Best of luck.

I personally like to Export out my movie and then compress it in Compressor because it is a lot faster that way.To do it I go to File, Export, Quick Time movie. Make sure it is marked as self contained.
I think if you use the best setting in compressor you will be very happy with the quality. If not you can always increase it. Hope this helps and best of luck.
