I second that. I think an internship is great or as also referred to, getting on a site like Vimeo.com and going to one of the motion graphic groups. Such as the Motion Graphic Artist group ( https://vimeo.com/groups/motion ) and looking for inspiration. Then start asking your self how would you achieve something similar. Be sure to follow your favorite artist and have fun.

I’m confused by your reply. I think we have a misunderstanding. The way I read your comment is if you think I’m asking how to achieve that look “IN” 16 seconds.
I want to create a simular look to the clip “AT” 16 seconds in the YouTube video. The reason for that clip and not the one say at 2 seconds is because they are different looks or tints. At 2 seconds it is very blue. I’m after the nice browns that they where able to get into the clip. It feels like a brownish blue with a washed out look. Here is a still grab of it. I also like the clip following it at 18 seconds. Any help getting me pointed in the right direction would be helpful.

AE isn’t an editing program so you should do it in FCPX. If you are paying for the CC bundle you are getting Premier Pro as part of the package and you may want to consider it for easier round tripping to AE. Depending on what you are doing you might want to check out automatic ducks plugin for going from FCPX to AE : https://www.automaticduck.com/
I do my editing in an editing application and then my keying and motion graphics in After Effects. Hope this helps and best of luck.

If I was building it I would:
Animate the camea’s z position so the camera is moving away from the starting point. I would then add photos using their z position to get them where I like them. Then when it makes sense to see one of the photos based on where you are in the camera move I would animate the photo so it jumps into the visible area using key frames and have them jump out once they have been on long enough. They timed the jump out with another image jumping in. Not sure if this makes any sense. Best of luck.

The tutorial was built in Motion and the spots where built in After Effects…although they could have been built in Motion. I used the puppet tool to help bend parts of the characters body, so you would have to go with out that if built in Motion. I thought they added linking to Motion 5 so you can do a charter rig. I haven’t been in Motion since they released FCPX. Because of that I switched over to Adobe. Everything in all three videos was built by me except for a couple of vector images I purchased on a stock site. Those projects where a lot of fun.
