This is how I would do it. Shoot the person on a green screen and then key them out. Place them in front of a white background. Apply the Bad TV filter to the person. It is at: Effects, Video Filters, Stylize, Bad TV. Adjust to how you like it with keyframes and you are good to go. Best of luck.

I agree with Bob. Don’t send e-mails. Everyone sends e-mail and it is just treated like Spam. If you have time I recommend visiting in person or cold calling. It separates you from the crowd. E-mail is easy, walking in and saying hello is hard. Plus, then I can put a face with the person who calls me to check up on if we have any work. We get hundreds of e-mails, lots of calls and very few people walking in the door.

All options will work. I recommend that you check out the production houses in your area and find the ones you like the best. Then I would do an internship for one of them. You will gain some real world experience because you will be working on real world projects. You will gain some great contact that can help you find a job if the company isn’t hiring once your internship is done. Plus, it is much cheaper then school. I feel when people are looking to hire an editor they are looking at experience, hence they want to see your demo reel. Just my two cents. Best of luck.

Make the photo 3D and in addition to a slight move add rotation. That creates a really cool look. Or you can kick it up a notch and separate the photo into layers and separate their Z position. This will create a much more realistic move but is much more work. To see what I’m talking about check out this 2K commercial I did in Motion.

How long is this video? Does it use the replicator or particles a lot? Does it have a lot of layers?

Changes the individual “web site’s” Z position so the web sites get further and further away from each other. So some are close and some are far away and some are in-between. Hope this helps and best of luck.
