Wow, that is pretty nasty indeed.

Already reported to Apple. Hopefully they get on this asap.

    Thanks for the tip!

July 8, 2014 at 2:51 am in reply to: Updating copied events

I thought I was done with the client and copied the entire library to an external drive. There are 6 events in that library.

Client wanted additional changes, so I added additional projects (aka timelines “v2” “v3” etc) and media to two of the events.

So is there anyway for FCP X to know what is the new media and projects I added since the last copy? Or do I have to delete those events I already copied and just start over?

    Does this make sense?

I tried all of the above and it doesn’t seem to respond.

The timecode will move when hitting left/right arrows but the actual timeline indicator stays still. It’s bizarre. I’m running CC. Is this a bug?

  • Great! Thank you

  • Hmm

So select the clip in the timeline to load it into the viewer
Highlight the parameter I want to change, lets say transform.
When I use the arrows, all it does is move the playhead left or right in the timeline

  • Sorry if I wasn’t clear.

In 7 you could move a particular element that was in the canvas pixel by pixel by selecting it in the canvas and use the option+left arrow keys. It makes it more precise than using the mouse to move elements in the canvas sometimes. I haven’t found that you can do that in X yet.

  • Bummer. I also notice there is no keyboard shortcut to nudge clips by frame inside the the viewer.

I discovered today that when the event viewer is open, the multi clip viewer will not preview unless a clip is in the time line. Anyone else?

I have been upgrading since V1. I’ll try and do a re-install and repair permissions. This is happening on different machines, so I’m not sure how much a fix it will be.

Jeremy, there it is not a split edit before insert.

Thanks for the suggestion Charlie, but I’ve tried that with the same result. It does not just do this with audio, but with video as well.

This has me and my freelance editors baffled!
