A lot depends on your source and what the metadata says. I can assure you, though, that practically no cable or satellite service is really sending HD. Technically, the FCC defines HD as anything better than NTSC 480-line, so when they say you are getting HD programs, they aren’t lying.

Sony is not unlike other companies with an update schedule. They would be crazy to announce a release date too early because it would cannibalize their sales flow. But if they keep up with their past history, it will be in April at NAB. No guarantees, though.

No, and no.
Justified text requires adjusting the kern (“tracking” in Vegas Speak) between characters which a word processor will do, but not a simple text generator in a video editing program.
You can approximate it by putting your text in a new track for each line, but that’s a lot of work. Maybe you could do it in Word and save the text as an image.
But, justified text for short lines looks pretty crappy even on a word processor. Are you sure you want that?

I can’t duplicate the problem. You might try turning on cursor sync, but that’s a long shot. If you post your veg file I can test it here.

Generally, the Project Properties should match your final output format.

If you can use the same crop for every event, then do it once and save it as a new preset. Just type in the name of your new preset and click on the “Save” icon.
