  • Text adjustment in Vegas Pro – is both left and right aligned text possible?

    Dear Creative Cow,

In most text programs (e.g. Word), when you write text you can choose:
    1. Left aligned
    2. Centered
    3. Right aligned
    4. Left&Right aligned

In Vegas I cannot find any left&right aligned option. Is there one? and can it be made?

    Regards,
    Søren

” Is there one? and can it be made?”

    No, and no.

Justified text requires adjusting the kern (“tracking” in Vegas Speak) between characters which a word processor will do, but not a simple text generator in a video editing program.

You can approximate it by putting your text in a new track for each line, but that’s a lot of work. Maybe you could do it in Word and save the text as an image.

But, justified text for short lines looks pretty crappy even on a word processor. Are you sure you want that?

    Thank you Steve,

It is for texting a long interview, so I think for this application it might look okay.
I like the input about making it in word and saving as image, and if that’s the easiest route , that’s what I’ll do 🙂

    Regards,
    Søren

The NewBlue titler does support fully justified text.
