I use Dropbox a lot to send files to clients. It’s only as public as you want to hand out the password.

For client proofs, I render to AVI then use Moyea Flash video MX Pro. I don’t recall the price but it’s a lot cheaper than Sorenson. (I have Sorenson Squeeze, but for proofs, the Moyea program is much faster). When Moyea finishes, I have my HTML, SWF and FLV files ready to FTP to my site, copy the URL and email that to the client.

In theory, you could white balance on a black card. All that’s required is a neutral card. 255,255,255 is just as neutral as 128,128,128 – and the camera doesn’t care because to white balance, all the camera wants to do is make the RGB levels equal – thus “Balanced”.

There are no settings, just capture the digital data and edit away.

The TBC in the ADVC-110 is pretty good. I don’t know what your friend means by a “true” TBC except that high-priced TBC’s are adjustable. The ‘110 is a compromise that improves practically any VHS feed you give it.

This is interesting because it’s been my understanding that NO NLE used the GPU for rendering. those that are tied to a graphics card (like Final Cut, Premiere and Avid) only use the GPU for preview.

Is my information incorrect?

Sounds like a player issue. Nothing that Vegas can do about that.

But, I haven’t used WMP for years, preferring the VLC Media Player.

How many disk drives do you have? With one you could easily be running out of TEMP space and Dynamic Memory space.

You just render your best audio from vegas to a wav file, drop it onto Levelator, then bring the resulting file back into Vegas.
