Text Toolbar Issues Unresolved
I’ve already brought this up but I fear I won’t get a response now the thread has slipped down the list. I was advised to return Vegas to its system settings by holding ctrl and shift whilst opening it – the idea being to get back the text tool bar (and other media generations tool bars) after it disappeared (I might have dragged it offscreen, but even changing the resolution won’t work).
The restoring to defaults method has not worked and I urgently need to find out a way of getting my text toolbar back to finish a project. Can anyone help? Or am I going to have to re-install vegas?

Whatever toolbar or tab isn’t visible its quite easy to put
back in place with a keen eye and patience….I could be more helpful
if you could post a snapshop of the specific area giving the trouble

Screengrabs uploaded. When I place a piece of text on the timeline it normally automatically brings up the toolbar so I can type the text etc. This no longer happens and when I press the button to bring it up (2nd image), nothing appears. -
From what i see the window could be simply hidden behind the preview
window or some other panel….drag away all the panels, im sure you will see it behind one of them, then you can place them back as you desire.Steve Rhoden

You’ve got a window docked (and squashed horizontally) between the Media Generators on the left and the Preview on the right.
At the top-left of the preview panel is a small X (to close the panel) and a row of dots (aka the docking handle) below that. Now look at the narrow strip between the Preview and Media Generators panels, and drag the row of dots on that narrow strip downwards away from it’s current position and you should see a window pop out – that’s probably your FX/Media Generator controls window.

Cheers for the help. Unfortunately the strip between the preview window and the media generator one is the mixer, which I’d squashed for some reason whilst I was taking the snapshot.
I’ve dragged all of the windows out of their locations, and I’m still having no luck.

Usually when this happens, the “missing” window is actually under Window’s START bar. Set the start bar to auto hide, look under there and move it back to the main area of the screen, and the turn off auto hide. Alternately, change the screen resolution to a higher resolution, move the screen back to the main area, and reset the screen resolution back to where you want it.
