Faults per second just means that the Pagefile (system process) was looking for data in the pagefile cache, and it didn’t find it there, so it had to go to the hard disk to read the requested data.
What is your commit count doing?

Those wavy lines in the shirt are Moire effect. It is almost impossible to avoid them which is why you never see a patterned shirt or jacket in pro videos. What’s happening is that the horizontal scan lines in the camera are breaking up the pattern on the shirt, and the encoder in the camera is trying to predict what is in the next group of pixels based on prior pixels.

I have two editing stations. Both have three 21-inch LCD monitors. I can’t imagine working with less than two. Yes, I am spoiled.
I personally avoid Radeon because of a personal issue with drivers, and I have been very pleased with nVidia products. I only buy GeForce, made by nVidia, not the third-party cards that use the nVidia chips. This way I know that the drivers from nVidia will work with the card they made.
Do not put two cards by different manufacturers in the PC. It will work, but I like to avoid the risk of incompatible drivers. If you install two of the same display adapter cards in your PC, Windows on;y has one driver to deal with.

I don’t have AE. I did try it when a client needed a transition done in AE and decided that this client was not worth the enormous learning curve of AE. So I did it in Vegas and the client was very pleased with the result. He didn’t care if I used AE or not, it’s what he had from a previous editor.
But, uncompressed AVI shouldn’t take any longer to load than compressed avi.
Is the load starting and stopping?

OK, I see the problem, and it does look like a bug. By zooming in and looking at the transition frame-by-frame, the first frame into the transition already contains a significant part of the second photo, and at the end, the last frame of the transition still contains a bit of the first photo then the next frame is photo two only. Not smooth.
You should report this as a bug and it should be very easy for SCS support to replicate it.
As a workaround, use a smaller feather setting.

The problem with codec Packs is that they shotgun your PC with a lot of codecs, some very inferior to the codecs that Vegas installs. If your system is missing a codec, then you should only install the one missing codec.
But, we haven’t ruled out the source media as the problem, either. Have you done this workflow before without problems?
If your source file is less than 2Gb, you can use Dropbox to send it to me and I will try encoding an MP2 from it.
Just put the file into the public folder in your “My Dropbox”, right click on the file, select “dropbox” and “Copy Public Link”. This puts the public link of the file into your clipboard. Send me this link and I’ll get the file.
