[Sebastien Gravel] “Then I copy and paste the property of that clip onto the rest of the clips on my timeline.”
That’s a lot of extra work.
First, if it’s on the timeline, it’s an event – not a clip. You are working at the event level then duplicating it across other events from the same media. Do it at the media level and you only have to do it once.

[Angelo Mike] ” despite the camera itself being pretty inexpensive.”
The cost of a single lens could easily double the startup cost.

Everything looks fine in my preview screen.
Your preview screen is absolutely worthless for color and brightness evaluations. Pro camera viewfinders are B&W because they are higher resolution and the pros know that viewfinders are just that – viewfinders. You use them to frame your shot.
Your video will look different on every screen you view it on. Have you seen your video on a calibrated monitor?

I was wrong on the first look, there is only one instance of Vegas running. The PID (Process ID) would be different if there were more than one.
You can try ending the the lowest process in the list. This is likely the one holding up your program and causing it to freeze. Tick on the box next to this process, click End Process, and your locked-up program may be brought back to life.

How many instances of Vegas are you running? This looks like two.

Go to start/run and enter “resmon”. In the overview tab, right click on Vegas110.exe, then click on “Aalyze Wait Chain”
This will tell you what background processes that Vegas is waiting for.

[Mikhail Petrushin] “Here you are (~75MB, the smallest piece that crashed during my workflow):”
You’re not going to like this.
First, I never found a need for subclips, Everything here is edited on the timeline.
Your veg file crashes at the end of the stabilization.
I used your original m2ts file and applied the Sony Stabilizer to it – no problems.
I made a subclip from it, applied the Sony Stabilizer, no problems.
Your veg file (again) and it crashes.Hope this helps.
If you want to continue this, start a new thread.

[Mikhail Petrushin] “I use file-sharing services rarely so I don’t know what is the best one”
They are all spam. depositfiles.com is one of the worst. You have to wait a minute before you can download, in the meanwhile you have to be spammed to buy their “premium” service. If you use their “free” service they deliberately slow the file transfer speed.
If I want to send a large file, I use Dropbox.
Dropbox is a cloud-based file sharing service that syncs file across all your computers. It works with files (video, graphics, text, anything) of any size, and it syncs automatically whenever a new file appears or a change is detected. Best of all, it’s free for a 2GB account. (And no spam ads). Use this link (https://db.tt/KCWoOts) to get your free Dropbox and we both get an additional 500 MB.

I am downloading your file now.

Wouldn’t a tripod be cheaper?
[Mikhail Petrushin] “I can send you an example project that crashes every time when I am trying to stabilize subclip.”
I’ll give it a shot here if you want.
