Well, I was with you until that last line.
I can count the number of crashes here on one hand. And that’s over many years of use. I upgrade my program mid-project – that’s how stable Vegas has been here.
Sony has nothing to be “ashamed” of. There’s a few dozen people with problems, versus many hundreds (maybe thousands) of happy users who never go to the forums to not complain.
There is a known bug in the Main Concept AVC encoder, and the workaround is to turn off the GPU in the template properties.

If you want to put streaming video on your server then you need a streaming server or host the video on a streaming content provider.
FloPlayer is just the player on your website. FloPlayer will play streamed video, but I suspect that what you plan to do is to deliver video over HTML and host the video on your web host.
You need to consider your audience. Their download speed limits are probably going to be your bottleneck. Since you aren’t using a streaming server with adaptive bitrate, you have to either provide the file in the lowest common denominator, probably MP4 over a 3G smartphone, or provide a menu of download options.
I would suggest starting with the YouTube HD template to start.

I’ve heard of that before. Doesn’t your camera come with a capture utility that merges all of the 2Gb files on the CF card into a single file?

First, make a backup of your .veg files.
Interesting question. I suspect that every link is discreet. But the first time you run the project (.veg file) Vegas will say that it can’t find the media and it asks where to search for it. Vegas then offers to search for the remaining media files in the same location. My guess is that you will have to do this for every folder where you have the media. But only once.
All of my projects are on Drive B. I put the project drive into the USB dock then run a batch file I wrote (Make_Drive_B.bat) that uses the SUBST command to make the drive look like B: in Windows.
This way it doesn’t matter which computer I use, the project is always on Drive B:.

My projects are all on external USB2 drives in a desktop docking station.
Unless you are working with uncompressed 4:4:4 (4K) video, you don’t need anything faster.Steve Mann

I haven’t done many Blu-Ray discs, and I honestly can’t recall how I fixed that particular error. Are you using the correct templates?

Importing a video file or embedding a veg file has no effect on the bitrate requirements of the DVD. That is a completely separate issue.
If you can’t embed a veg file, then there probably *is* a file missing in the embedded project. Open the project that you are trying to embed and click on the lightning icon in the Project Media window to remove any unused media from the list.

On one of my workstations I have never been able to encode MainConcept AVC. On a suggestion from Sony Support (yes, they do respond) I have no issues encoding MainConcept AVC when selecting CPU Only in the “render as” options.
(You don’t “render” MP4 notwithstanding that Sony put the encoding options into the “Render As” menu)
