    Hi All,

I am using vegas pro 11 and have had no issues importing veg. files into a larger project, up until a few weeks ago.

So, ive edited the ceremony and speeches from a wedding shoot and im now building the whole project. So the main build project has the preparation and arrivals footage edited, and i try to import the veg. file of the ceremony – the thinking wheel just keeps on turning , vegas frezzes and locks up. (there are no missing files in the orgional ceremony project (I know this can sometimes cause an issue)). A workaround is to render out the ceremony and import it that way, this works but seams to throw up a ‘bit rate’ issue in DVDA !!!! (I think), so im stuck either way. The only other thing that changed at roughly the same time is i bought the Vegasuar add in (which is fab), ive tried closing this too to no avail.

any tips would be most welcome.

Try render into Sony MXF and then import it.

Importing a video file or embedding a veg file has no effect on the bitrate requirements of the DVD. That is a completely separate issue.

If you can’t embed a veg file, then there probably *is* a file missing in the embedded project. Open the project that you are trying to embed and click on the lightning icon in the Project Media window to remove any unused media from the list.

I haven’t done many Blu-Ray discs, and I honestly can’t recall how I fixed that particular error. Are you using the correct templates?

    Hi Steve,

yes im using the ‘=’ signed template. There isant a template for DVDA as there is for DVD though. And it looks like the properties in DVDA has a 18000 bitrate.

    Hi Steve,

This worked – problem solved – thank you so much……. I think i understand the issue now too.

I dont think there was a missing file, just too many files for vegas to cope with in the project. I have moved over to card based filming and was dropping all the media files into the project (100’s). Now in the ceremony for example, removing the unused media took eveything out except 4 files.

    Thank you one again.

    Kind regards
    Martin

I’ve heard of that before. Doesn’t your camera come with a capture utility that merges all of the 2Gb files on the CF card into a single file?
