Thank you for the advice!! I will do a few tests according to your instructions, however, what do you mean by a better codec than the original? Could you give me an example?

Footage is normal DV footage at 720 x 480. I export using the render que at lossless quality, best settings, .mov file with no compression.

Any more info that would be helpful?

I don’t see a button for importing photoshop files as a sequence, however, I somehow managed to figure out the problem by un-checking Live Photoshop 3D. Do you know why “Live Photoshop 3D” does this? Or what is it exactly?

    Thank you for your help!!

I formatted the SDHC card and it now shows the full 97 min. of free space. Problem is solved, but could someone explain (in detail would be great) why it wouldn’t show it before?

Also, could someone explain if it’s wrong to format every so often? I heard it’s not that great because it takes up the life span of the card.

    Thanks!!

    Thanks for your reply!

I tried it, but it didn’t work. I put a link of the picture where the jagged lines are in this scene. I put it on a very low quality so the lines would stand out and have circled where the lines are.

Also, whenever I inport footage, it appears like this. So there must be something wrong with some setting because no one else has this problem, right?

Sorry it’s taken so long for me to get back to this thread. I’ve been insanely busy!

I did manage to export via .AVI rather than through adobe media encoder, and the black showed!!! So it is adobe media encoder that causes the black to go away.

So narrowing the problem down? How is that fixable? Is it even fixable? Because I’d much rather have compressed files than HUGE files due to limited space on my computer.

Thanks so much for your help!!

Hmmmm, I know the black area is included under the yellow bar. The reason for why I don’t go to File >> Export >> Movie is because I want to compress the file (and from my understanding there isn’t a compression option unless you go to File >> Export >> Adobe Media Encoder?)

As far as the replacing the black goes….it does not take it out altogether. The 1.5 seconds of black is replaced by 1.5 seconds of a still from the 1st frame.
