What do you mean when you say the entire timeline or just the work area?

The way I export is by going to File >> Export >> Adobe Media Encoder (I’m pretty sure it’s called that, I don’t have it in front of me at the moment).

Would that be considered exporting the entire timeline? Which one is better when it comes to the entire timeline or just the work area?

Hmmm. I think I’ll have to try the black.bmp

I should have clarified though….I’m using after effects 6.5 (I know, I’m way behind in the times but a poor college student, haha).

Well, maybe I should have clarified better. There are no “spaces” in the video. When there is black i either have video there with the opacity all the way down, or I have a black video piece that I stick in where I want black video. The weird thing is that when I render it, wherever there is black, it doesn’t show up. It’s like Premier recognizes black video and says “we can’t have black video in here” and then replaces it with a still frame of the 1st frame.

    Any ideas as to why?

    I have Encore 1.5

How do you export an uncompressed version of quicktime?

My Encore project settings are NTSC 4:3 and my AE settings are 720 x 480 with a frame rate of 29.97. I export using quicktime format in the compressed setting H.264.

Thank you!! That worked and my video came out beautifully!

BTW…I feel really dumb about asking this, but did you used to work for 101 Media?

hmmmm, well, since you mention it, the entire video is photoshop layers. However, I have AE 6.5, not 8, would that post a problem?

Here’s what I’ve found out so far….i can render different portions of my video, but not the entire thing. Could it be that my video is “too large a file” to be rendered through my laptop because it doesn’t have enough RAM? It definitely has enough memory on it.

I do have large items I guess because my video is in 3-D space. But i’ve rendered this video before and nothing was wrong with it. Is there a limit to how big an item can be?

I do have the latest version of quicktime, what’s weird is that I’ve rendered this before, but not it’s not letting me.
