  • Files won’t import

    Hi,

I rendered a couple files in after effects and want to import them into Encore DVD. When I try to import, it says that it can only import files with 24 or 29.97 fps. The weird part is that the files I exported from AE were 29.97 fps. Not sure on what to do?

    Thanks in advance!

You might want to provide more information about the encoding of the AE files, and about your Encore project settings.

My Encore project settings are NTSC 4:3 and my AE settings are 720 x 480 with a frame rate of 29.97. I export using quicktime format in the compressed setting H.264.

I’m guessing it doesn’t like the H.264 compression. Which version of Encore?

Instead, try exporting as QuickTime DV or uncompressed from AE, and then import that into Encore.

    I have Encore 1.5

How do you export an uncompressed version of quicktime?

Encore 1.5 definitely does not support H.264 encoding. However, H.264 is supported in Encore CS3 and CS4.

[Stephen Lubin] “How do you export an uncompressed version of quicktime?”

Similar to how you exported H.264 from QuickTime – you select it in the video compression settings in AE. Keep in mind that uncompressed = large files. I’d suggest QuickTime-DV or MPEG-2 for DVD, if you version of AE supports the latter.
