This message is a sure sign something did change. The main Encore project folder has the same name as the .ncor file (e.g. “Beach.ncor” has a folder “Beach” that is in the same folder as the project file). And inside the folder “Beach” are various Encore folders (e.g. Cache, Sources). If you move the project file or move the folders. Encore can’t find them.
Where is the project file? Do you see the folder with its same name?

The DVD limits were always the DVD spec: 36 buttons per 4:3 menu and 18 buttons per 16:9 menu.
The limit is 32 buttons per menu in BD; is that a spec or Encore limit?
My money is on your having a DVD 16:9 menu!

June 24, 2012 at 1:22 pm in reply to: Deadline Nightmare: Subpictures changing color spontaneouslyI don’t recall anyone reporting odd shifts of color set/highlights in unchanged menus. Highlight oddities perhaps, but this is to color set related.
My vote is for project corruption/do over rather than reinstall.

Be sure you have not added a layer in addition to the one that is named “background.” Encore substitutes the motion only for the “background” layer.
If not that, clear the cache etc.
“getting an winfile.cpp-758 error now when I try to burn a disk since I realize that the preview may just be messing up”
Can you build to a folder?

June 22, 2012 at 12:56 am in reply to: Adobe Encore CS6 Crashes when Creating New TimelineThe link you posted was an example of something that appeared to be broken in CS6 and okay in Encore CS5.1. It was not related to a crash upon creating a timeline from an imported asset.
I do not experience the problem. But I’m on a PC, and I assume from your .mov example you are mac?
Can you import as timeline? (I assume not.)
Can you import an MPEG2 Bluray export from Premiere and create a timeline? (I’m looking for anything that works for your install, to rule out a bad install.)

How do you plan to put HD on an SD (DVD) disk? Answer: you can’t. Once you downrez the HD to SD, it may fit on one disk.

June 1, 2012 at 2:41 pm in reply to: SWF export with subtitles – not WYSIWYG and very low Q titlesAre you using the “export subtitles as text only” option? Don’t and see if that helps. If you don’t use the text only option, the subtitles should display using images.
