I got on with Apple. It seems their new Music Player defaults to copying media files to the main hard drive. I changed that Preference, moved the files to my external hard drive, deleted them from the MacHD, and managed to update all the latest Adobe apps and start AE just fine.

I have the 8GB of RAM with this model. Yes, I restarted, and yes, I purged everything off this hard drive and moved it to the external. I’m trying to run an update, and I’m being told I don’t have enough disk space to even do that…

did you layer your text over your video and then post it to IG? What format did you export it in?

I tried following the tutorial as well – and I’m getting the CAP layer as 2D text sitting out to the side …

I’ll try other tutorials, but like Graham said, this may be done more simply…

I’ll try that on my Mac – I don’t think I have the admin status on my office PC. In the meantime, I did manage to Add To Render Queue, save an .AVI file, and open that in Media Encoder – I saved my animated GIF, and I’ll test other configurations later.

It doesn’t seem to matter what video profile I choose, it just… sits… there…

Are you on a Mac or PC?

I’m also trying to figure out a good workflow between the two. I did a short video; stitched my two shots together in Premiere, but exported to AE and added my intro and transition and outro, from which I rendered in its final format… Would it have been better to add the AE elements in Premiere?

Draft 3D… That was it… Funny how so many tutorials leave out little details like that…

I was just beating my head against the wall, since I followed the exact steps in this (and other) tutorials …

    Thanks everyone!

I was playing with those a little – it still feels too loose and imprecise… I guess I need more practice…
