I agree that Magic lantern is a great addition to T2i. But what really pisses me off is that every time you format the card you have to put ML files on it again, and to top it all making the card bootable on a mac is another pain in the neck.
Or is their another way of doing it?

Ok.
This is a known bug.
Basically you have to leave fcp alone while ingesting. If you play around in FCp while ingesting, its gonna mess up ur clips and shorten their duration.
And yes, this shud be asked in FCP forum, this forum is for pure speculation purposes!

Its funny you mentioned that.
Very recently, I have met 3 brand new macbook pro owners who have no idea that their computer has a thunderbolt interface! But they paid the price for it and apple is very happy about it.

This is what i do.
Transcode all dslr footage to pro res 422. P2 footage comes in native.
I then put both formats in a pro res timeline. And render when the edit is done.

Having successfully done this in past on my Mac Pro & Macbook Pro, for some weird reason i can’t get it going on my Imac.

For me ‘Jaw Dropper’ is something unexpected(Pleasant preferably) & i am sure it is the same for everybody else here.
So lets take this argument a little further.
64 bit application was unexpected?
Native support for H.264 was unexpected?
Background rendering was unexpected?
New UI was unexpected?
Better audio tools were unexpected?
Not trying to belittle apple’s work(Not that i really can), but one has to be caveman if he thinks these things were unexpected.

David, you right about that.
Personally, I think i got a little carried away by the way new FCP was announced to be a ‘Jaw Dropper’. I was really hoping for something completely out of the box. And given apple’s track record, that was not too much to ask for.
However I would be very happy if this new version is solid & stable(with all the wonderful features) & Apple shows a little more evident commitment towards pro-apps.
