After reading through this interesting list of posts, I feel I have to add a bit of international wisdom. Ive been editing and compositing all over the world, in Australia, Austria, Germany and Ireland.
    My point is….

….Ive never seen a more impressive Mullet than Rolands.

yeah, sort of. i worked it out myself in the end. the problem was i was trying to work in a 720×576 comp. Im working with large digital photos, so i made the comp the size of the pics, and put a 720×576 render area in the middle of the comp window. much easier to work like that. and just used motion blur instead of tring to render shine on a 3000 pixel photo.
but the result was what i was trying to do.
    thanks for the reply

Google “DVD logo” in the pictures link. But this logo is copyrighted, and can only be used by a legit pressing company. Or so I have read.

Thanks man, that explains it so I understand. Ive been working in video production for more than 10 years, and have only recently bothered to look into these things. Deeper you go, the more confusing it is.
But now I have it figured.
    Thanks again,

Make sure your transcoding settings in Encore is set to the correct field, frame rate.
    Just a thought.
