    Updated to latest driver 10.3.4

Set output in BM prefs to P not PSF. Restarted and issue seems to be resolved.

try this line below in your “launchd-user.conf” in /etc on all machines apart from the server

    umask 003

It should set anything you put on the server to group STAFF W/R

Once in place reboot to take effect.

Also side tip. remove the “launchd-user.conf” from /ETC and reboot before installing and Adobe CC stuff and updates. Seems to screw the install up.

Once installed replace “launchd-user.conf” in /etc and reboot.

January 8, 2015 at 5:01 pm in reply to: FCPX subclips conforming / reels / remote grades

If all media is linked in Resolve whats the issue?

Doesn’t matter if they have reels or not if they are working and linked.

If they aren’t linked after importing the XML as your editor is not attached to same storage as you but you have the same media just select your clips in Media Pool that the XML import populated and right click >Change source folder to reconnect to correct location.

Or – Create a folder under /Master in media pool and name it XML_MEDIA and drag the unlinked clips into that.
Create a new folder in media pool called LOCAL_MEDIA – add all your media you have on you local disks

Then reconform the timeline in EDIT page from that folder rather than the unlinked media pool files the XML imported

Chk the manual for reconform from folder options

I understand what the manual says. I just don’t see much if any changes in performance.

Bob I’ll email you. I have a tweak in sysctl but I tend to get better less choppy speed tests with smb.

    Thanks.

Anyone noticed the if your sharing out storage over 10Gig the Server Macs ram gets totally gobbled up?

Never freed up even when clients disconnected. Even after a weekend of no connections.

Is this to do with the settings in sysctl.conf ?

keep having to run sudo purge.

Never had this over 1Gig with other machines. Should the server be running OSX Server to cope with this?

Or is osx just pants at flushing cache with 10Gbit ?

    Lol@Bob,

You not tried it Bob ? Thought you’d be itching to try new utils?

I’m gonna run a test when I get a second. Just thought others may have played with it also.

You tried the Sonnet Bob ? https://www.sonnettech.com/product/twin10g.html

Initial tests were direct connected a MacBook Pro with a 10Gig Promise Sanlink to a new Mac Pro with Areca TB2 raid and another promise sanlink

After that ran well a 3rd sanlink was placed on an iMac and the Areca connected to that. The iMac runs as the server. SSD / 32 Gig ram etc..

The sanlinks have 2 ports. so with 3 machines you can create a triangle connection.

After we have run this for a while I’ll probably throw a 12 port 10Gig switch in for more machines.

VFX are connoted to the iMac over 1Gig so they don’t bog the 10Gig down.

Happily grading multi channel 1080 EXRs in Resolve over 10Gig. Plenty for us.
