December 22, 2018 at 1:58 am in reply to: PLEASE major problem with sony nx100 black screenIt looks like to me that there is a problem with the iris not opening up. The first thing I would try is to reset the camera. Also make sure you check all of your settings. If it still does not work then there is definitely something wrong and my guess without looking at it would be the lens. Iris problems are rare. Most of the time we see iris problems if the user had been filming the sun. Good luck to you.

July 19, 2017 at 7:05 am in reply to: NX5U error code/vibration/malfunction and Opening up the lensThe E:62:10 error is a common issue that we have seen. Check out my blog article: https://www.videoonerepair.com/e6210-lens-error-hxr-nx5u-hdr-ax2000/ This is an easier fix. It has to do with how the lens circuits control the lens. If you have any questions about it you could give me a call.

Unfortunately this problem is in the camera and is not a card or an issue with your FMU. When this issue shows up you are probably recording on 24P or 30P. For a temporary work around you could record in 60i.

If you are referring to the Sony NEX-FS100, then hot pixels could electronically be remapped. You typically do not have to have the sensor replaced. If you would like more details on this you could give me a call.

You are correct John. Once the coating on the screen starts to wear out the only fix is screen replacement. Just a heads up, we have seen some cheap generic screens out there however I would not recommend them. Picture quality is not very good. If you are going to have the LCD screen replaced stick with the OEM screen.

I know this is an older post but for all of the people out there that are still having this problem I wrote a blog article about the E:62:10 problem and why it happens. https://www.videoonerepair.com/e6210-lens-error-hxr-nx5u-hdr-ax2000/ I hope it’s useful to you guys. If you have any questions about this camera I am very knowledgeable on the NX5 and can answer any of your repair questions.

January 14, 2015 at 6:37 am in reply to: weird lines on footage shot with our Sony NXCAM (5U)How did you make out with this? Ian is right about when you replace the main board that the camcorder will need to be electronically realigned. The NX5 camcorders are really nice cameras hope you were able to get it sorted out.

Yes, it defiantly sounds like you are have a problem with your tape mechanism. The one thing that i would say is it’s NOT a dirty head problem, so don’t keep trying to fix it with a head cleaner tape. This is a common misconception. When there is a problem with the camcorder the first thing that people will think of is to stick a head cleaner tape in it. If you were having a “Dirty Head” problem the symptoms that you would be having would be picture problems on playback. It sounds like you will be needing to send it in for repair.
