Hello Mike!
Thank you for the suggestion! I have already tried that & it did not work. Could it be a codec thing ? I installed recently a free set of DNxHD Avid codecs.
Still searching for answers.
Thanks!

Hello Kelly!
Thank you for the suggestion. I’m on a PC, & for 10 years I’ve been on Vegas always using WAV files, without any problems, then all of a sudden everything has changed ?
For now, to make it through my session, I will try your suggestion. I’m still hoping to get Vegas back to where it’s been for me for so many years.
If anyone else has a suggestion, I’d be forever grateful.
Thanks again Kelly!!

Umm!
I did not know that. The file extension is .mov I tried renaming it to mp4 with no luck. I’m assuming I’ll have to take them back to get them converted.
Unless there’s something else ?
If not ?
Thanks John!!

December 17, 2013 at 11:39 pm in reply to: how do I play XDCAM EX footage in Vegas Pro 12 ?Hello John!
Thanks for the help! Ok I found out that the camera is a JVC ProHD GY-HM750 which can natively shoot in MOV or MP4. They chose MOV to shoot in, then gave me the files, Nice! So I guess I will take it back to them & have them convert it so I can use them.
Thanks for your help John!

Hello John! And Steve!
I was handed the files from my church. They gave me an SD card, I have dumped all the info from the card to my computer but cannot get Vegas to open them. The audio plays on Vegas but no Video.
I’m stuck not knowing what to do ?
Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks!!

OK I’ve had a problem for a while now where my windows explorer within Vegas will not see ANYTHING! No files no directory NOTHING. All my older versions worked but 12 did not. Several months ago I reinstalled it to see if the problem was fixed. No luck! When I go to view then click on windows explorer it see’s nothing, no folders, no files, no way to navigate, nothing!
So I’ve been having to open windows explorer outside of Vegas then dragging & dropping my files unto the Vegas timeline, this work around has worked except with these XDCAM EX files. When I import them into Vegas it imports audio only, no video.
I found a codec that worked. It cost $149.00 to purchase. I have the demo installed right now. Vegas now reads the XDCAM EX files, BUT the files have watermarks all over them because I have a demo codec installed. Any suggestions ?
Thanks John!! !!

Hello Steve.
I’ve got it figured out a bit. The file is an XDCAM EX file. I have found a demo codec that works, https://www.calibratedsoftware.com/store/WindowsIndividualStore.asp
It cost $149.00 though. Now I’ve been reading about installing an SxS
device driver. I just tried installing it but no luck. Now I’m reading I may need an SxS Device Driver and SxS UDF Driver.
Got to admit I’m confused.I just need to import an XDCAM EX file into Vegas then edit. Do you know of a cheaper route then the $149.00 codec I listed ?
Thanks!! !! !!

June 5, 2013 at 6:15 pm in reply to: Source Video Looks Good But Has Artifactes When It’s In VegasHello Nick,
One thing I just thought of. When you first opened your file did you first (Hit the film icon in your project properties tab ?)
If you didn’t this is probably your problem.
Open a new session in Vegas, then open your project properties tab. There will be a small film icon at the top right of this window box. Click it, it will then go to windows explorer, at that point find what folder your file is in then select it & click it.What this does is Vegas will match all it’s attribute settings to this file. Then yo0u can click best in the video preview. Then you can follow my previous instructions on how to render a clean file.
Let me know how it turned out ?

Hello Steve! Where do you get the script ?
If you have a link to the script Steve I’d be very grateful for that!Graham, I’m sure he added it within Avid.
