March 21, 2015 at 2:20 am in reply to: Can Vegas Pro 13 work with Long G50 MXF files shot from a Panasonic AJ-PX270?Hello John!
Thank you for the response, and the list. I see Panasonic P2 & that’s what camera I bought a(Panasonic AJ-PX270) Which is a P2 camera. It also shoots with micro P2. It can also shoot with SD cards, which I thought would be great since that’s all I own. I did not know it was possible for only some of a camera’s formats to be supported & others not? I did not want to shoot in AVC Intra 100 as it takes up too much space for my needs. Live a learn though.
I returned the camera today, bummer. I’ve owned 2 previous Panasonic camera’s, I just assumed this too would work. Been using Vegas since 4.0 I believe, don’t plan on switching.
Thank you John & everyone who responded, you guys are awesome!

Hello Graham!
I think you may have misunderstood ? The MXF files will not play in VLC. When I try to play them in VLC, an error comes up & says there is no decoder to play these files. In fact I cannot get any playback from anything with these files as of now. What am I missing ? I just Googled what a canon utility is. I’m gonna call Panasonic when they open at 9am. I’m hoping I can find a solution here withing the next few hours, or I will have to return the camera later today. I have taken the day off to research, however I do not know where to look other then to call Panasonic.
Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!!
Thank you all!!

Hello Norman!
I just downloaded the 770 build. Thank you! No luck though. I also just installed Sony Vegas Pro 13 the trial version, no luck. Vegas will not import the files, nor will anything on my computer play them either. I shot several files & none of them will play, they all play on the camera. VLC said there was no decoder available to play the file?
I don’t know what to do other then find the answer here or return the Panasonic AJ-PX270 camera back, BUMMER!
Any help will be very much appreciated! And thank you!!

Hello John!
I just installed the Vegas Pro 13 trial version & it would not allow me to import the MXF files. First I tried dragging them in from windows explorer, then I tried the device manager, then I tried to import them through the project media tab, the project media tab did allow me to select the file, which I thought OK, this is gonna import now, but when I clicked open, to import the file, an unspecified error appeared. I have shot many different files & none of them will import, nor can I play the files at all on anything from my computer. VLC said there is not a decoder that will work. I’m on windows 7 64 bit operating system.
I don’t know what to do other than to find an answer here, or return the Panasonic AJ-PX270 camera back.
Any help would be very much appreciated! And thank you!!

Yes, I do have another computer, I never thought about doing that. I guess I can.
My buddy who builds & fixes computers also uses Sony Vegas, he suggested I reformat everything, since he cannot think of anything else for me to try, he thinks it’s a problem within windows somewhere. I’m not certain of all my specs but it’s a pretty good system. I’m on a different computer whenever I’m online. The computer with my Audio & Video programs on it is not online, so it’s not easy for me to read my specs then post then at the same time, I’m running windows 7.
Thanks!

When you say “Have you looked at the config for the audio card” I’m assuming you mean my sample & bit rate, Yes I have, everything matches perfectly.
Here’s something I’ve recently recognized, it appears the files I’m having troubles with are any additional audio files I import into the project, meaning the native audio files that came with the video files don’t seem to be the issue, but everything else .WAV wise I’ve imported into my project, Voice-Over & Music.
Again, all other media platforms works perfectly, my audio program (SAW) windows media player & QuickTime player. The issue is strictly Vegas only. I am getting ready to wipe out my entire drive & reformat EVERYTHING.

February 22, 2015 at 3:05 am in reply to: Audio changing & becoming corrupted in Sony Vegas Pro 12 WHY ?Hello Bob!
Yes I have tried using the Microsoft Sound Mapper as my audio device. I don’t think the problem has anything to do with my RME FireFace 800, the reason being my audio program is working perfect! Yesterday I updated my drivers & firmware for my RME sound card. Today I went out & bought a new drive thinking maybe it was my external drive. No! Still having the same problem, audio cutting in & out, tracks being mixed together, slowing down & speeding up artifacts, waveform changing randomly, the audio is going absolutely CRAZY!
I will take anyone’s suggestion as my only other option is reformatting my system, which I’m trying everything I can to not do, however I cannot work with this kind of issue.
