Can’t import 10 bit .mov file into vegas 12 why?
Hello all!
I have Vegas Pro 12. I just had a file delivered to me that is a 10 bit uncompressed .mov file & Vegas cannot open it. It imports the audio but tells me there is no video there. However After Effects CS5 open’s & plays the file fine. I do have QuickTime Pro installed. Does anyone know why Vegas cannot open it ? Is there something I need to install to have Vegas read this file ? I found out that the codec is integer (Big Endian) If I can find this codec ? Will Vegas then play the file ? I am currently looking for the codec but have not found it yet ? Will windows 7 64 bit work with this codec ?
Am I doomed ? Or is there hope ?

This happens to me at times, because i get media from a wide
client base, giving me an endless variety of video formats and
flavors…. So as in your situation, instead of hunting all
over for the right codec, i simply render out everything thru
after effects in a vegas compatible format and then start my
editing back in Vegas. Im hoping that file you have isnt

If QT pro can handle the file, QT pro can probably convert the file to a QT codec that Vegas can handle. Otherwise some other program to convert will be necessary. AE is an option since you have it.
