Then you need to capture HDCAM footage…not DV, like your subject line suggests.
You’d be best served getting an HD Capture Card like the Kona 2 or Decklink and capturing all the footage at the same resolution. Maybe start with an offline resolution, then capture full res 10-bit HD.
HDV is more of an acquisition format, not a mastering one…

The upgrade should be pretty painless, but a good way to keep FCP 4.5 and Panther around (A DARN stable system if you ask me) is to install Panther and FCP 4.5 on a separate drive and boot from that drive when you need to. Or, if you don’t have another secondary internal yet, get one and install Tiger and FCP 5 on that and keep you old system on the original drive.
That is what I do.

Export a 29.97 EDL. Use Cinema Tools to convert the EDL to 23.98. Import that EDL into the Online FCP system.
And talk to the person doing the online…they might have solutions. And don’t do this again.

160GB drive with 8 GB left….that is the issue. You need to have about 10% of your drive free to ensure taht you don’t drop frames. When the drive is too full it has difficulty playing back footage.
Might need to invest in another drive and move some of the media onto it…

No. Only FCP 5 does HDV natively.

Sell yourself. This company really needs to hire you because…but don’t try to sound pompous. There is a fine line.
List your skills, your talents and greatest accomplishments. Sure a resume can give a date and a project, but you need to say stff like “creative storyteller” if you are an editor, or “inventive graphic designer who knows how to grab your attention.”
For example:

I am a skilled compositor using After Effects and Motion to enchance graphics and titles to add production value to the project. I have been editing for 5 years, having assisted for 3 years and online edited for 2 years prior.
Most recently I completed a drama series for Nickelodeon that will air in January, and currently am finishing up a series of documentaries on the science of the bible for National Geographic.
