July 16, 2008 at 1:36 am in reply to: ProAnimator 3D Object transported into After EffectsHi Ed,
You could save a scene in PA and open it in PA for AE. If you are after the object only, then export a 3D object in the ZXO format to keep your mapping, then import the object in PA for AE.
Does this make sens?

Hi,
If you have Invigorator or proAnimator check out my site http://www.nyc-visual.com for a 3D DVD box project. If not then make a search on DVD box (Including the archive) to find an AE only project.

July 8, 2008 at 5:15 am in reply to: Serge 3D Book – Project file missing, can anyone supply?Scott, I apologize for the broken link.
I recently received many notification e-mails on this one and other threads too. Thanks!I just started an FTP upload that should restore all project links and visual examples I posted at the creative Cow since 2001. As they upload alphabetically yours should already be avalaible.

Greg. I meant you should use Invigorator to save your original object to LW or OBJ. Then import the object and scale it down.
If you are still having issues, send me your aep without any media files. I will certainly find out a way for you. (serge at nyc-visual dot com)

Hi Gregory,
I guess you saved to the ZXO format right? Rescaling this format is unfortunately impossible without breaking your model apart.
My tip is to save your object to any other available format first then in the “Import” Pop-Up window alter the scale of your object. The default scale is (100.000)
You would need to relink all your maps but you could once you are done resave a ZXO file fully mapped and at the right scale.

[Tony Silva] “When I switch to the Invigorator Renderer, the OpenGL window obviously goes away, but the render times seem slower.”
Yes. Your renders should slow down indeed.
Here is what I would do:
-Map all objects having the Invigorator layer set to best mode so you can check your textures etc…
-If you want lights to cast shadows, do that too in best mode but make sure when you are satisfied with your lighting that you temporarily disable all shadows as they will slow you down.
-Once you are satisfied with the look and want to animate your objects just switch the Invigorator layer to draft quality. This last step will enable you to animate and preview quite quickly your scenes.
When you are ready to render, switch the Invigorator layer to best quality and enable your shadows (If any). You could use OpenGl if you want for the final render but be aware that OpenGl doesn’t support modes like transparency or bump mapping.
Salut,
SergePS: The Hide GL Render Windows” button never worked for me either. I think Zax has a list of compatible cards on his site.

Hi,
You should consider using the Invigorator renderer instead of the OpenGl render option.
You can switch between the two in the Set-Up window. First make sure you are in the Camera Mode by clicking on the camera icon then right under the manipulation tools you will find a menu that says “High Quality OpenGl” Just click on the second option.
