    Hi Sean.

I have searched for your instructions but can’t seem to find them. This is of great interest to me as we use photo-jpeg
    a lot. Please enlighten me.

I would take everything that BlueFish says with a grain of salt. As far as AVID goes, I doubt they would ever
allow a 3rd party card to work with their DV line of products to cannibalise their high end products. It would be suicide.

Another vote for the magnificent VAPOR! It’s so common where I work they just say. “Vapor it.”
And it’s free! Just be careful using it with 10bit uncompressed with high precision rendering.
You might get some weirdness going on. Works best with DV, 8 Bit uncompressed and 10 Bit
    uncompressed rendered in RGB.

Oh well at least they fixed the uncompressed easy setups. I thought I was going mad.

    Two ways of doing this.

    1. Select the clip and hit copy. Use REPLACE to edit in the new shot. Right click on the clip and hit PASTE ATTRIBUTES and select Filters Motion etc.

    2. Open clip you want to insert in the viewer. Mark it up. Hit COPY. Go to old clip in timeline and right click on it and select PASTE ATTRIBUTES and select Content.

  • Sounds more to me like an Easy setup mis match. Have you selected the blackmagic DV setting? Other than that make sure that no part of the canvas is obscured or off the screen.

Have you switched to EDIT mode in Edit to Tape and not MASTER mode?

Well I’ve had no issues with sync. However it still is flakey and is not even close to that of an Avid. At least it’s getting better with each release. Do a copy first and then if everything works out ok you can then delete the origninal stuff.

If you want full resolution 4:3 then shoot 4:3 and letterbox for your other version.
The loss of cropping off the sides if you shoot 16:9 is negligible so really you could go either way.

I guess one advantage of shooting 16:9 is that you future proof the material for use later on.
    (if that’s of any concern)

If you do decide to shoot 16:9 make sure the camera shoots native 16:9 and not a digital conversion
    like the XL1, DVX-100 or the PD-150/170.

Why would you have to blow it up? You just need to cut off the sides.
I think you are thinking that widescreen is letterboxed. It’s not.
If you want to produce a letterboxed version then go ahead and shoot 4:3 and crop the top and bottom.
