    I’m having this weird problem when i am doing insert edits in FCP5 with a decklink HD going out to a digi beta. The start of thew insert is perfect but after the last frame of the out i am getting a black framesome of the ime it works fine but most of the time i get this annoying black frame please help!!!!!

    could it be the out point???

    The out point in the edit to tape window is exactly the same as the out point in the timeline in fact i copy and pasted the timecode.

    Have you switched to EDIT mode in Edit to Tape and not MASTER mode?

    And this is exactly why you’re getting a black frame.
    Always make a 3 point edit in Ficnal Cut not 4. In other words, set the in and the out in Edit to tape, and just the in, in the timeline. Or you could set the in and the out in the timeline and just the in, in edit to tape. By giving Final Cut just 3 points of timecode you will no longer see any black frames at the end of your inserts.
