something like this i could temporarily mount right behind my 50″ panny with some of those cinemaquest lights pointing up and sitting behind where the tv stand sits – what do you think? I do want it to look as nice as possible considering it is a large beautiful brick wall.

haha!
damn apparently they have a dinosaur confidence monitor 🙂Maybe convincing them to rent or buy a Dreamcolor w/ BMD gear is in order!

Hey Chris,
thank you for the response!
I am thinking to have something tasteful indeed – not sure exactly what but I would like it to go up and down for behind both monitors along with 6500 3-4ft bulbs installed in fluorescent bulb fixtures – hoping a nice combo of the two will create a good back drop for the monitors.

Hey Rohit,
its been suggested to me in this forum that having x4 BG RAM sticks (32GB total) is a bad idea and will effect performance of Resolve – would you agree and recommend getting 2 more to go up to 48GB total?! I really want to avoid spending any more money on the RAM since I have already spent so much – how much will it effect performance and why exactly?

Really loving the pics everyone – really inspirational!
I am curious about grey backgrounds myself as the new space i am moving to has red brick walls behind both my station and the client monitor. I posted early last week and got a few responses but I am curious to get some more suggestions about cheap / easy solutions for putting up grey behind a 50″ plasma as well as my 24″ confidence monitor which sit right in front of red brick.
I will post some shots of the new space when i get home

i have the same combo of wacom + wave and am just curious how you have your desk setup for efficiency – any chance for a pic or explanation? I have the wacom right in front of me with keyboard above it on desk and then to the right i have the Wave angled towards me sitting in front of my dreamcolor.

July 6, 2011 at 8:42 pm in reply to: AVID Artist Color (Euphonix) or Tangent Waves Panel?I chose the wave panel and I am happy…did not like the ethernet aspect of the Euphonix and also like in Color you have to dig around!
Wave while a little bigger is actually not that big – real-estate-wsie its still pretty small next to my wacom & keyboard.

July 4, 2011 at 8:33 pm in reply to: Goodbye Apple Color > Hello Resolve 8 – MacPro ConfigHey Kevin,
I am about to leave for a BBQ so really appreciate your response…Happy Holiday sir!
not sure if you saw my post above but again what about this instead:
So right now I have:
slot 4 – HDMI plate (plugged into Decklink card sitting directly below)
slot 3 – Decklink Extreme3D+
Slot 2 – Nvidea GT 120
Slot 1 – Nvidea GTX 285I imagine your slot 4 is taken up by a RedRocket card or RAID card no? I have a software RAID 0 8TB internal so maybe that is the difference between our setups?
Any thoughts about this setup would be helpful.

July 4, 2011 at 7:41 pm in reply to: Goodbye Apple Color > Hello Resolve 8 – MacPro ConfigJust to clarify – I have slot 4 at the top OPEN so I just connected the 2 HDMI cables to the back of my decklink card and then put the plate in that top slot which is available…it does seem a little crammed in there but as of right now non of the cables from the HDMI plate OR the GTX 285 are touching any of the fans or cards themselves.
Any thoughts or opinions on this config would be great
So now I have:
slot 4 – HDMI plate
slot 3 – Decklink Extreme3D+
Slot 2 – Nvidea GT 120
Slot 1 – Nvidea GTX 285
