I’ll try it. but still not sure why it looks great with a no field sequence, or even as it sits in a lower field sequence with the blue bar on top before it gets rendered. Once I render it however it looks terrible. So odd.

So once I render in DVCpro 50 and I want to make a dvd, I just re-import the final movie and send it out to compressor?

you ever figure this out? It’s the same with me, my photoshop graphics always look terrible until i switch the field order to none. then they look great. Any idea what the danger is of just leaving the field order to none? the rest of the video seems to be unaffected by doing that.

It’s odd, when you choose the IPOD default from QT conversion it says 360-240 and you can’t change the options. But when its compressed it comes out 360-213. What is your default size you mentioned
I don’t have a video ipod to test.

it’s very erratic. can’t tell if its only the fan. just backed up, and now looking for new firewired drive. Should I make sure to get Firewire 800. My new powerbook has a port, but my desktop does not. Are people using it for FCP HD, or does it not make a difference?

    thanks

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. I am going in Firewire. I mention I have the matrox card just because it sends the signal out to my NTSC monitor. Has nothing to do with digitizing.
    Any other ideas?
    thanks
