Curious, are you using the new After Effects that is Universal or an older version that is running through Rosetta on your MBP?

I just logged in to the site after I read your message. All works fine here. I’m on a Mac as well. Maybe empty your cache and browsing history.

Running the exact same system here without any issues. Also a Dual 2.0 G5 a couple G4s and an intel iMac. Only doing DV work right now. Enjoy and have fun.

  • That card still says PCI-Express.

“Designed exclusively for PCI Express based Power Mac G5 systems, it will turn your computer into a sophisticated graphics workstation and a monster gaming machine.”

    “System Requirements
Power Mac G5 PCI Express based system”

Thanks for the information but I do not see where it will work in PCI-X or AGP.

  • I’m only finding this card with PCI-Express options. Where do you see PCI-X? And I don’t believe Apple made a Quad 2.7, the Quad was 2.5 and then 3.0, with the PCI-Express options. I guess I am maxed out for video card speed until I upgrade computer.

  • (cont.) I believe that the Dual 2.7 G5 only has PCI-X and I do not think that the card you are asking about will work in this computer. The best card I have found is the ATI Radeon X800.

  • I have a Dual 2.7 and I don’t think I have PCI-Express. Can you double check? I thought the PCI-Express options were later in the models.

  • We only use LaCie’s in our office, all DV editing. We have 5 different ones and all have lasted at least 2 years, some 4+. We are running 10.4.9 on all our machines as well. No problems. There are problems with every brand of external drives. Can’t help with the problem that started this thread though. Sorry.

When? I would love to attend. I love Chicago and just need a simple reason to go there. Would you post here when you might have the private tour? Thank you.

From the same area. Same thoughts. Chicago is a 5-6 hour drive for me, all I need is a reason to go and I’m there. I am looking at going to the Atlanta conference myself. I do feel your pain and wish that they would offer this closer to our area.
