Which version of Juicer are you using? Are you rendering the animations in the Juicer in the Animation Codec with Millions+ Colors? just checking the simple stuff first. I haven’t had any problems with alpha channels, but I do not have ETK7 so if the problem is product specific you may need to check the DJ Forums for help.

March 26, 2007 at 7:24 pm in reply to: Question for the Digital Juice fans out there…I just downloaded Juicer 2, having issues with Juicer 3. Yes it works. I rendered an animation from a disc, changed the settings in the Juicer to Uncompressed 8-bit. Opened a new sequence in FCP and changed settings to Uncompressed 8-bit. Played the animation without having to render, not even a green bar. Hope this helps.

QT Pro has an export setting in there specifically for Apple TV now, with the 7.1.5 update.

March 23, 2007 at 7:01 pm in reply to: Question for the Digital Juice fans out there…I do not normally work in Uncompressed, we shoot on Mini-DV. So I am trying to do a test for you. But Juicer 3 is locking up on me when I try to encode it this way. I have contacted Juicer Support and they are looking at it. I’ll let you know as soon as I can. I hope I get this to work because you have done so much for the FCP Cow Community, I hope I can help you out once. Have a great day and I will post again as soon as I get a UC 8bit file from Juicer.

March 23, 2007 at 3:09 pm in reply to: Question for the Digital Juice fans out there…In Juicer 3 there is a button that looks like a sideways open end wrench next to the Format for Quicktime Movie. In there you can make the necessary compressor changes. It took me a LOOOOONG time to figure all this out. Have fun and good luck.

March 23, 2007 at 1:01 am in reply to: Question for the Digital Juice fans out there…When I use the DJ products I always make sure and check the properties of the Quicktime Codec being used. It Defaults to Animation so, in the case of my timelines being DVCPro, I make sure and switch the Quicktime properties to DV/DVCPro NTSC. Then I do not have to render ever. I always make sure and use 29.97. Now I am not currently working in SD and do not work in HDV but there are presets in the Compressor Type settings for Quicktime in juicer 3 for HDV. So make sure those are set and not Animation and try and see if you still need to render.
And Walter, have you tried the Uncompressed setting in this area as well?
Have a great day.

March 23, 2006 at 3:31 pm in reply to: How does the JVC sr-vs30u (miniDV-SVHS) work with FCP?We have 4 of these decks in house. the only problem that we have with them is that the heads go out quickly on the Mini-DV side. 3 of these decks are being used for ONLY firewire hookup to monitor or pass through of Analog like others have said. I would suggest against this deck and go with something sturdier. I’ve worked with the DSR-11 and it was a champ, different shop. we are looking at the Panasonic DV2500 as a replacement for these decks. And these decks are the “Professional” version, in a clean shop, with somewhat regular head cleaning.
I don’t like speaking ill of anything on these forums, especially when others are working just great with this deck. I am just relaying MY experience with these decks.

Thanks. They do not have one in stock and will take 3-4 weeks to get one, IF ATI still has any.
