  • Embedding Digital Juice issues…

Posted by Apple Juice on April 4, 2007 at 10:07 pm

I recently purchased the Editors Toolkit 7, Digital Juice is an outstanding company. However, there is no alpha channel when I import them into FCP. It’s black and not transparent, thus making my swipes and lower thirds useless. I called customer support and he said it’s a common issue with FCP5 and that there is a patch for it. I can’t seem to find a patch anywhere after a long while of searching…that is when I turned to CC. Help me if ya can!

Have you assigned the alpha channel to black?

Well the thing that baffles me is that some of the sets do work properly, the majority don’t. I will check the alpha channel tomorrow anyway. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

Which version of Juicer are you using? Are you rendering the animations in the Juicer in the Animation Codec with Millions+ Colors? just checking the simple stuff first. I haven’t had any problems with alpha channels, but I do not have ETK7 so if the problem is product specific you may need to check the DJ Forums for help.

    Apple Juice,

I have ETK7 and I have no problems. I just drag the animations directly into FCP and render there. No reason to render in both the Juicer and FCP.
I have several of the DJ products, and the only one I have had issues with the Alpha Channel is my very old version of ETK1. That one has to be rendered in Juicer 2 first, and you must use the Animation Codec with millions+ colors as Scott said.
