If she has FCP 5, then she doesn’t have Apple Color.
I would first decide what I want my color to look like, and edit clips accordingly. If you have several to edit, I would create a preset (ex. Preset 01) that gets my color where it needs to be so I can then apply that “Preset 01” to several clips for consistency. If you apply the preset, and it creates a look that’s slightly off your baseline, make adjustments and save that as a new preset (ex. Preset 02). Makes sense?

Yep, you encountered the boomerand effect. Setting the keyframe to linear or adjusting the bezier curve points alleviates the problem.

Just looks like solid color correction to me. Make sure your levels are set right – move your levels adjustments around to get the right contrast based on your footage (while keeping things within limits for broadcast or whatever delivery you are doing). Bump saturation up a little… it’s difficult to tell you how without seeing your source footage.

If your source is square pixels, and PAL uses a different PAR (pixel aspect ratio) then it may appear bad just because of the way Photoshop displays images with a non-square PAR. Try saving it and importing the frame(s) into your video app to see if it looks better.
