Here’s the FIX! This is from Jake at Cineform:

Here’s what you need to do.

    Browse to the following folder:

    C:\Program Files\CineForm\NeoScene\

or if you are running a 64-bit OS:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\CineForm\NeoScene\

Then double click on the file called, ;mc_dec_mpa_ds.ax’.

If windows asks you how to open the file, browse to:

    C:\Windows\System32\

    and select ‘regsvr32.exe’

You should get a message saying that the file successfully registered.

Then try converting again and you should have audio.

Trying to convert AVCHD files from my NXCAM with Neo Scene, video converts however audio does not convert. After reading this thread and others, has anyone discovered a fix?

Hey John, I bought two NXCAMs this week along with a pair of 128 flash drives. I do appreciate your input and I am looking forward to using the new format. I read the manuals and I am taking them on a job this weekend. Very exciting.

Hi Chris, i don’t have the NX5, but I would assume that Vegas 8 does not recognize AVCHD files. My suggestion would be to upgrade to Vegas 9d which supports the new format.

  • I appreciate your input. The 2nd post answered my question. I knew it was not difficult, I just could not find the answer. I needed to complete the DVD before the end of business today. So I was a bit fustrated with the program.

What would be the best way to monitor the vegas timeline for output quality? Use a second computer monitor and use the vegas preview window. Use the firewire output to a TV? I’ve been using the preview window, because the firewire connected to a conopus ADVC-100 does not seem right, jerky playback. Thanks
