I have an AMD hexacore (X6 1090s) and love it. It is pretty much equivalent to an i7 920-930 and WAY more cost effective for a motherboard, ram (dual channel) and CPU. I have had great luck in Vegas 10 and do not regret saving some dough on it. Up to this point I have used Intel chips, but the i7 would just too salty with all things considered. I also used an Intel Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad to edit HDV with about the same results as John stated. Also, see if your motherboard can handle a better AMD chip, the X6 series can work in many of the older boards as well. There is my 2 cents, good luck!

I have had very good luck with using DVDA….very few issues. My only wish is that it could “verify” the DVD after burning. If you use good media (TY is my goto except for Dual Layer, since they do not make those). If you want to use Nero (I do when I am doing a short run of Dual Layers since they are not TY’s), follow the steps for burning a disc until you get to where it would find a DVD burner. Then use the drop down tab to select BURN ISO IMAGE. This will create an ISO file that Nero can read and burn a disc from. BE SURE in Nero to select burn FROM an image, not burn a Data or Video DVD…it will not work. Good luck!

What is Win64? Are you referring to Windows 7 64bit, Vista 64Bit, XP 64 bit or something else? I am using mine on Win 7 64bit Ultimate with no issues….

Make sure you are not capturing to a FAT32 formated drive. It will not allow files sizes over 4GB I believe. You need to have NTFS format for larger files. Just thought that this may be the issue. Also, it still could be dropped frames. I had that happen a lot until I switched to another tape brand….just some thoughts!

I had to do a complete un-install and then re-install 10d for it to work. Maybe try that…

Sony AVC format has very nice presets for most format sizes you may need I believe. Ones especially for online as well, I use them all the time for uploading TV spots for clients onto youtube…
