If the ram is an issue, try using an eraser on the connection ends. Sometime a little flux can remain on them from production and this will help remove any. I have had this work well in the past…

  • What are you rendering too as far as format? If I am rendering to any form of AVCHD I turn OFF GPU under the rendering settings….if it is set to automatic I find it takes quite a bit longer to render a file….

  • Neat video processes EVERY frame of video when it is used, removing or adjusting the noise in each….this is extremely processor and time intensive…..but a stated above….works really well!

Vegas is wrong…..I have never had a render finish without turning off the GPU or Automatic setting. I use CPU only and it works like a charm. Plus, unless you are using an older CPU, I find it faster anyway….
    Good luck

March 24, 2012 at 11:13 pm in reply to: Can Vegas 11 get any MORE buggy?

Well good point John about Sony TRYING to provide support for GPU, but as of now it is worthless for the most part. We DID ask for that big time and many of us where REALLY excited to see it here, unfortunately even buying hardware that Sony itself has tested seems to be lackluster. I am just really amazed however that 11 is worse than 10 in preview quality on the SAME project even without GPU enabled….here is hoping they get it fixed soon, before some honestly look to just ship…thanks for a little clarity!!

February 25, 2012 at 7:10 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas 12 WISHLIST

    MY wishlist….
    1) That SVP 11 would actually be FULLY FUNCTIONAL!!!
    a) GPU Acceleration both PREVIEW and Rendering
    b) DV capture
    c) Print to tape
    d) NO constant crashing
    e) Pan/Crop

    2) SVP 12…more Vegas plugins

Overall, that I could TRUST that new features are actually WORKING PROPERLY before being announced, let alone at release….so I don’t spend money on something that I cannot use…

February 11, 2012 at 4:23 am in reply to: Vegas Pro 11 build 521 Crashes Constantly

I have SVP running on 5 computers, and experience crashes on ALL of them! From 2 laptops to 3 workstations they all crash. I make a point to save as often as I can. They use AMD and INTEL chip dual, quad and hexcore processors and some have GPU’s that will do acceleration and some that do not…I refuse to hear someone tell me after countless hours and MANY others experiencing the SAME PROBLEMS, that it is my computer….amazing…

If you want LESS crashes…turn off GPU acceleration. If you want FASTER renders, choose CPU only, NOT automatic in any form of AVCHD. Just the way it is, we ALL have been duped on this one….not just you…we all feel your pain. I have two systems and both have issues, one with an NVIDIA card, the other a Radeon (one they show IN there actually tests)! I have had no success with ANY drivers and was tired of wasting my time.
    Good Luck!
