[Bob Zelin] “this is from the Panasonic Product Manager of Panasonic on the AJ-HD1200A.
I don’t give a crap what anybody says they “can” do – “

I agree totaly, I didn’t mean to inadvertently call a “crash record” an assemble. Out of 40-50 Print to tapes, I only had one that started on the correct timecode and that I think was just plain luck.

I have used the 1200A with FCP and you can fudge an assemble edit over FW. It is not frame accurate, nor is it dependable, and yes there are weird glitch stuff like TC breaks in a Master. We did it though.

Try nesting the audio clip and then linking the other clips to the nest.

Check underneath your other windows. If it is hiding there you can drag it back to the browser.

Try trashing preferences. Go to user-library-preferences-final cut pro user data- (trash the cache and preference file) reboot and try again.

TJ, I don’t think the question is what sequence settings support alpha. The alpha is in your media. Meaning if you are working in a DV sequence and you bring in a “animation” with alpha piece of media the DV sequence honors the alpha. Ultimately you need to decide on what format the majority of your media will be and set you sequence to that. When working with multi-format project; rendering is just something you have to live with for now.

Thanks, I think I’m going to go for it. Another editor I’m working with has been using one for a while and to watch him use it was really amazing. Much faster and more fluid.

Have you trashed your prefs? If so it sounds like something is miising (software wise) in your system. You could try a fresh install of FCP?
