In further research it seems that with USB mics there seems to be some inheirent “noise” described as tape hiss like. Is this the case? I’m not looking for great studio quality sound (I’ll go to a real audio guy for that) but I would like as good quality as possible.

Just make sure she sets up her bin the way sebsky wants it or else you’ll have problems with it. In the help file it tells you what it is looking for.

sebsky tools is a freeware program to facilitate getting Avid bins into FCP.

QT doesn’t play all codecs smoothly. Are your QT files exported using the DV50 codec? If so I would doubt that that would play back smoothly in the QT player. Also playing off the desktop probably is part of the problem; try putting the file on a faster drive.

Wayne, Apple is tough to get deals on when buying new. Prices are pretty much the same everywhere.

Make a playlist with the songs in iTunes, burn to CD. Import off the CD. Pain, but works.

No, drive is recognized by DW and Disc Utitlity but keep getting “input/output error”

Go to “sequence” in your menu. Go to “Render All” make sure everything is checked. Render all. If that does not work. Quit FCP, trash prefs, restart.
