January 30, 2014 at 3:50 pm in reply to: Another cache post. Wait… it’s not as bad as usual…Not at all.
Try to middle click from another grade, try lifting one from the Timeline, or changing its length.
And now try to make a change on a Red clip that is used several times, but uses local gradings.
All these action invalidate the cache.
Furthermore it only seems to work on material brought into the timeline as single clips, when you are grading from a full clip cut by and EDL its much severe.
I think the main problem with it is that it doesnt really look a the local media created during caching.
At least the functions that make it go back to the source are way off….for now.
But they know already …lets wait and see 🙂A slice of color…

My students love em…They get used to the shortcuts, develop muscle memory and afterwards can use the tool faster.

Yes, and on every Mac I am working on I install Quicktime 7 from my Cloud drive or USB key.
Not only because QT X is a pile of junk and useless for professional use, but also because I need to show my clients things on their system first.
And splice in an audio file, or cut of a color bar.
Apple made a shade move back then to push its Compressor, but if you know what you are doing you will always go back to VLC and QT 7..The main problem is, as soon as THEY ship it of to their client, the same problem happens.

Oh boy, this sounds terrible.
Thats exactly how mine started to die last year.
The problem originates in the big card drawing too much power during some operations like rendering but also on boot up.
The capacitors are slowly giving in.
I hope you are still on Apple Care.A slice of color…

Is it just me or does it look like TNR nodes are more CPU than GPU dependent ?

I guess if it doesnt get up to speed it means you have not enough power for that flow.
Blur sharpen blur keeps the image half intact so we dont have a blurry mess in the end.I might have saved the project starting in Version 4, please start in Version 1 which should play on all system.

All right…all right…seems like we need more normal nodes for the Titans.
Colin, could you double Version 3 or 4 and see if it bogs down below 24 ?But nice to see the TNR is almost the same.
Could anyone from BMD chime in and let us know if TNR is CPU or GPU dependent ?
And what is the status of AMD ?A slice of color…
