  • You saved your scene detection, right ?
Or made an EDL from it ?
If you just load the detected scenes in, there is a sort of problems…like this one.
Always do it the other way and make an EDL, you are just dealing with one file and can easily make transitions and stuff.
    Render Cache still is global.

    Two option :

    1.Your project settings are wrong
2.You encountered another not supported video format, like I did with PAL DV which does not work in Resolve.

The video will not be interpreted with its accurate number of video lines but instead will be mapped to full PAL resolution.
Can you upload a short clip to WeTransfer.com ?
We can have a look then.
Do the same with your project file please.

There is no decoding on Alexa footage.
At least none that is done by the GPU .
You are faced with neatly compressed 8mb per frame image sequences that can be played back with just 250mb/s Raids or one SSD
The problem is that you need a proper GPU for the 3K work, and as soon as you are starting to use OFX or TNR your cache files will become 24 mb/f which then leads to 850 mb/s.
Only my internal flash memory (nMP6.1) can play that back at 30fps and not blink.

  • If you are using something like the Baselight or color Finesse plugin in a dedicated editing application, the results will be the same.
But you will lack a lot of the amazing features Resolve has and people like to use.
Like the done-in-a-blink-of-the-eye tracker to limit skin corrections.
Or the new temporal noise reduction.
Or making 10 different versions of one clip and flicking through.
Its a different , more direct, more interactive process than using an editing software.
I sometimes have three to four clients in the room with different opinions.
So i need to be very flexible, avoid rendering and plugins.
If you are sitting home alone, again, the result may be the same.
But I am probably at the bar already by then 😉

  • Absolutely..hoping to see this in 11

If editing is really what they focus on, there is tons to do.
I might not be enough to convert AVID people, but it should be better than Premiere and FCPX together.

Just a little thing, the manual inside the installer is still the October 13 release 😉
Maybe you wanna update that at some point.
