Resolve Lite – Is it possible to run on a portable PC?
Hello
I would like to start learning Davinci Lite and I want to buy a portable PC for this. Can anyone recommend a cheap PC config so that I can learn the basics? I can happily work in SD or compressed HD as I will not be using it for production.

look at the GPU’s in laptops.
I have seen one DOP around here has Lite running in he’s laptop.
Not sure what model but basically you should find one.

you need cuda acceleration for it to run. If you spec out a laptop, make sure of that. I have an HP Zseries laptop and it runs fine, but some of the models only have built in hp graphics, not nvidia, so beware. you also need 1920 x 1080 min. resolution. a 13 inch laptop won’t work. You may find it cheaper to build a desktop and put an nvidia card in it. Check the resolve specs on their website. (there are different specs for windows vs Mac)

Thank you both for the advice. I did not see anything on portable PCs on the BM site but if I only need a decent CUDA validated card and a 1920 screen, I have plenty of choice.
