We are using a JVC RS-25 and I am really happy with it , in its class.
With some time and Cinespace you can set it up to a nice P3 space , i am also using some self developed Cinevator LUTs and it works as expected.
Needless to say, its a whole different story to grade on that compared to a nicely set up NEC NC2000 for example.
But want to spend 5.000 and not 50.000
So I would ask the client how critical the work really is. -

Is that intentionally or just by accident ?
I would love to read ahead before my box arrives 🙂 -
Yep, the hackintosh is like Linux
“Its only free if your time is worth nothing ” 😉
But I cant wait to see some comparison of a true Mac with a Quadro 4800 against a good configured Hackingtosh with a 480 GTX.
I would assume its around three times as fast. -
Well, I think ts only a matter of days or weeks until we will see the new generation of nVidia for Mac. The drivers are already there in the latest OSX betas.
If you need it today and have a paid job, get the Quadro.
If you plan on building a kickass system, wait a while… -
Hey there,
well, i can only share my experience from working with Scratch and I noticed Premiere has problems making good EDLs.
For example, when you change the content of a container on your timeline, with new media, Premiere still calls it by the old name and your EDLs will not work but point to the old footage.
Then we had problems with its accuracy when the material was captured into Premiere directly for offline editing and tried to export a capture EDL for the Blurefish 4444 card to do the online.
So I think Resolve will be fine…Premiere…well, its Adobe 😉 -
Hey guys,
I really cant wait anymore to get my hands on this 🙂
So the bummer is I will run it on the iMac…ok…got it.
The question is should I get a MacPro or rather a MacBookPro.
I am still not planing to run a suite , but to educate myself on the system.
Now the question…
Could anyone with a laptop try and plug in a second display , please.
I am thinking of keeping the iMac because of its nice 27″ screen to run the app on. -
Well, sounds like a typical move.
Present @ NAB, deliver @ IBC.
I am totally ok with that…helps me budgeting things and not shelling money out for those outdated MacPros.
And with the new GTX cards, Apple also might include stronger PSUs, more slots and other well appreciated features.
Looking forward to IBC…as every year 🙂 -
Hackintosh…
The day I will get my license, I will start building one 😉

I have some questions regarding video output…
If the processing is done via CUAD, how is the real time video out done ?
1. Does it require a Decklink and then uses its SDI out ?
2. Does it work with the second output of the vNivia.
3. Would it also work with the nice SDI out option for the 4800 ? -
What he meant is where and when can we download the Demo version.
Which is what people want , I assume.
Try out if it runs on their MBPs and stuff.
Well, i preordered mine already…I´ll let you know asap.
