That thing would sell like sliced bread.
I am not a fan of the free 2 node thing.
But Like Baselight is doing it, a FCP pluging would be amazing.
And it also would put 80% of us out of the job 😉
Especially with the global decrease in quality of the average production and pressing budgets.

“Stay a while. stay forever ”
Or in other words, wait for V8 to pop up, which is a free upgrade for you.
V7 does not run pn your Ati powered iMac

Maybe with v8 thing will look different but for now just dont do this in Resolve, but instead feed Resolve with a clear structure.
    Example..
You have a movie with 1500 shots to grade.
100 of them will be VFX replacements.
Render out all your source media into folders.
sh0001 to sh1500 and just have your DPX files in there.
Start grading from that and as soon as you get VFX shots, just replace the footage in those folders.
By doing that Resolve will just load whats in the folder and you can worry about the color only.

Frankly, I think a new Mac Pro is what you want… 12 core gallore.
I mean, you are asking for double the encoding power when setting it to 60 fps.
On the other hand, FCP is happy to play 2-3 streams of 25p on my system.

I meant after editing from proxies you can use the XML, go to Storm and trim you Red files.
Don’t do the scaling there, Resolve is great doing that .
Your Client will be impressed if you can zoom into the 5k images while grading.
But because of the very limiter conform flexibility you should use Storm to ready your Red clips before loading them all into the media pool.

Same here, always trancode. H264 is a delivery fomat, not a working format.

Ask for one or two clips of the media right now . experiment with it and ask them to follow your results.
Its new stuff and would probably like a hand with it anyway . I would keep the Epic media nativ in a mixed project , it just feels good to have it ready.
But you might Want to use Storm for cutting and stuff.
