ProRes4444 Displays as Inverted
I’m working with some ProRes4444 footage shot by an Alexa. I’m using the original camera files. If I go into Conform and toggle the right monitor to show Source Clip, these clips display inverted. Any other type of clip – DPX sequences, R3D files, even ProRes 422 files – display normally. Is anyone else having this issue? My system has the ATI HD5770 card driving the GUI (there’s a Quadro 4000 for the GPU).

Hi Mike,
Are these files showing inverted also in the Browse page viewer, and in the Color page?
There is an option called Source Flip, and that can be used to Horizontally or Vertically flip shots in the Media Pool. Is it possible that’s switched on?
Best way to check that is to create a new project with this clip, and see if it still comes up flipped.

It’s not inverted as in flipped. The colors are inverted and solarized, so I’m getting a solarized negative image, as if the RGB is being multiplied by a non-existent alpha channel. It only happens on the Conform page, and only in the right monitor when I toggle it from offline clip to source clip. The offline clip shows normally.

It sounds like a bug to me if it is only happening with PR4444 files. The PR4444 files are 16-bit so different from other prores formats.
